Cagrilintide (development codes AM833 and NNC0174-0833) is a synthetic long-acting amylin analogue developed by Novo Nordisk, engineered from the amylin sequence with a fatty-diacid side chain that gives it a long, once-weekly-compatible half-life. It is also formulated with semaglutide as the investigational fixed-dose combination CagriSema.
A Phase 1b study (Enebo et al., 2021) characterised its pharmacokinetics alongside semaglutide, and a Phase 2 trial (Lau et al., 2021) examined once-weekly cagrilintide monotherapy in adults with overweight or obesity. The Phase 3 REDEFINE programme (Garvey et al., 2025) studied the CagriSema combination against each component alone.
Novo Nordisk submitted CagriSema to the FDA for weight management in December 2025; as of September 2026 neither cagrilintide alone nor CagriSema is an approved medicine in any jurisdiction. The FDA states that cagrilintide cannot be used in compounding under federal law and is not a component of any FDA-approved drug. Research-use-only vials sold commercially are outside Novo Nordisk’s clinical-trial supply chain and have not been reviewed for safety, effectiveness or quality.

Dúvidas comuns.
Is cagrilintide legal to buy?
It is not an approved medicine anywhere and the FDA states it cannot be used in compounding under federal law. Products sold research-use-only are for laboratory research, not human use; RUO labelling does not authorise personal use.
How is research-vial cagrilintide different from CagriSema?
CagriSema (cagrilintide plus semaglutide) is an investigational combination submitted to the FDA, not an approved pharmacy product. Any cagrilintide vial sold commercially is outside Novo Nordisk’s controlled clinical-trial supply chain.
What should a CoA show for cagrilintide?
HPLC purity, LC-MS mass confirmation against the PubChem-listed formula C194H312N54O59S2, a lot number, an independent third-party lab name and a test date. Published molecular-weight figures vary by source, so check the measured mass rather than a stated weight.
